New Satellite Sisters March 10, 2013: Julie, Liz and Sheila say “William J. Dahn, this one’s for you.”

by Liz on March 10, 2013

Julie, Liz and Sheila connect on today’s Satellite Sisters, which we dedicate to loyal, longtime Satellite Mister William J. Dahn. Bill was a lovely, generous member of our community who will be missed.

HaHaHa! You thought the idea of a Pope Dolan was just a Satellite Sisters joke? This cardinal's got mo.

Sheila fills us in on her latest creative project – there’s more poetry and coffee in her future.  Plus, she has a nomination for a host to replace both Joy Behar and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.  You may know her.   Lian Dolan? Yes! You can make it happen, people.

Julie’s got the latest on Lian’s new book Elizabeth The First Wife, plus news about her son’s book.  She needs a little help decoding that one.  And she’s got a bone to pick with the new TSA regulations.

Liz is feeling a groundswell of support for potential Pope Dolan.  Yes, they actually called his mass in Rome today a “star turn”. No, we are not related but we think it would be hilarious.  Have you registered yet with popealarm.com?  You are going to want to do that for all your breaking pope news needs.

And where do you intend to spend your golden years?  Liz found a front page story in the New York Times today on this subject a little alarming.  Great deals in South Florida retirement villages are attracting boomers who never would have expected they’d end up there. It was just the motivation she needed to start madly working on less buggy alternatives.

So good to hear Sheila’s laugh again!! I’ve missed hearing about her antics! That Bradley Whitford story was great!

Another excellent podcast, ladies! Sheila, hearing your story made me realize how much I have missed you. Julie, hoping your son’s book climbs to #1 in its category…even if none of us understand it! And Liz, you’ve got me thinking that I should probably start a plan for my golden years too…just not sure I could handle Florida. Hoping for Pope Dolan! ;) And sending up good thoughts to William J. I’ll miss his perspective and thoughts on things. He was an excellent son and caretaker for his mom, so I’m positive there’s a special place reserved for him. xo, Chris

Great show sisters – thanks so much for making my day!

Sheila, please do let us know when you hear from Bradley (you’ll notice I said when – not if). Liz, I think we should make plans for a bug free satellite sisters retirement community. Wouldn’t that be fun? And I think Lian would be a natural on The View, I shall write the network immediately.

It was with much sadness that I learned of Bill’s passing. I shall miss his always thoughtful and intelligent comments here.

Laura
